The Prophets’ TV shoot, a Joy for All
The Prophets shot our first very own TV show this past Monday evening. The Producer and Director seemed to be very pleased with the results. The star of the show might have been the exuberant LIVE audience. They had come to enjoy some great gospel music, from a legendary name in southern gospel music history. Audience members included numerous pro singers and musicians, as well as members of the gospel press. All had a blast! They really made our job easy. Thanks guys and gals!
Johnny Minick and Eddie Crook created the concept for the half hour show. Eddie chose the songs, in consultation with all of the quartet’s members. Mr Crook also wrote the script. The format was fast-paced! As most gospel fans would like, it was mostly singing…with just enough dialogue to tie the tunes together. Most of the talking took place during a chat with special guest, singer-songwriter, Daryl Williams. After explaining how he came to pen his monster hit, “Glory To God In The Highest”, Daryl performed the speedy song with Eddie at the piano and the rest of The Prophets belting-out some back up.
All future shows will have a “composer’s corner” segment. Future guest songwriters include: Ronnie Hinson, Aaron Wilburn, Lari Goss and Johnny Minick…with more to be scheduled soon.
One of the benefits of a fast-paced show, was being able to work 7 Prophets’ songs into the program. They were a mixture of numbers from our, about to be released, Cd and some gospel standards from The Prophets’ rich history:
I CAN CALL JESUS,
LOVE LIKE THE SUN,
LORD I’M COMING HOME,
HE SET ME FREE,
HOW I WANT YOU TO KNOW,
SWEETER AS THE DAYS GO BY,
and our Cd’s title song, and the show’s theme song,
I’LL FOLLOW
THE PROPHETS are:
Pianist: EDDIE CROOK / Tenor: BILL BAIZE / Lead: PAUL JACKSON / Baritone: ED HILL / Bass: MIKE ALLEN
Announcements about where you will be able to see the show…and the weekly series, should come pretty soon. No doubt, a DVD that will include other shows as well, will probably be ready in time to appear on our product table for this summer’s gigs.
Come on…Come blog with me!

Bro Paul,
Can’t wait to get my ’signed copy’ of the new CD.
I know this will be a blessing to many people. I am proud of you and your dedication to the Prophets and the ARC Choir. I am like JP - you can’t get too far off from us.

Wes, Jimmy and Janie…
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a word!
You ARC’ers relax. Part of my agreement with TPQ
was that I would not have to give up The Highlands or ARC.
