Thankful in Little Rock, Arkansas
EDITORS UPDATE 9:39pm Thanksgiving Eve: Alan made an excellent point in comment #8. We must not forget to pray for our US troops around the world on this Thanksgiving Day! We need to give thanks to them, and to HIM, FOR them. Amen! Leave a tribute in our comment section.
Original post…
Good Day!
We are blessed, here in Little Rock, this November morning. Amen. I believe the good ole slogan is, “American by birth…Southern by the grace of God!”
Yeh, We don’t have to work too hard to be thankful around here. Faith, Family and Food = an outstanding Thanksgiving…again…here in “The Natural State”….beautiful Arkansas.
In the New Testament, we are admonished to be thankful.
Fact is, that in I Thessalonians 5:16-18, the Apostle Paul exhorts us to, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give THANKS; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”…In II Timothy 3 we see that the Word list’s being “unthankful” as one of the most offensive sins of all.
Well, seeing that it is God’s will for us to be thankful all the time, that makes Thanksgiving Day in America, a no-brainer!
On this Thanksgiving Eve 2007, I gladly acknowledge that my life is full of endless reasons, for endless gratitude!…(An awesome wife and sons and daugter-in-law, The Highlands Church, the A.R.C., The Prophets Quartet, voluminous friends, our beloved Razorbacks…the world’s greatest dog, etc, etc, etc)…
However, without a doubt, our most treasured ‘07 “earthly blessing”, is the awesome priviledge to have one more Thanksgiving-Christmas season with our family, in which Kathy and I still enjoy the presence of all four of our parents! We are very aware that many people, our age, have already lost at least one parent.
We consider that a very special blessing this Thanksgiving! We are most thankful. Amen.
Do you have a special blessing this year? …Something for which you are particularly grateful? We would love for you to express your gratitude to the Father…right here in our comment section. Or maybe, you have a unique Thanksgiving memory that you would be willing to relay to our readers. We would love to hear it! Really!
After all, isn’t that what Thanksgiving Day is for?…taking the time to BE thankful.
Come on…come blog with me!

Like others, my list of blessings goes on and on starting with my salvation and the presence of Jesus in my life. This year is a very special year as I am especially thankful for the restoration that God has made in my life. He has blessed me in a mighty way with a wonderful woman whom I am marrying in a few weeks. My sons are healthy and my job is moving forward. I am blessed with a Pastor and church that is second to none.
I wish everyone a great Thanksgiving.

What a beautiful day to wake up and be in such a place of peace and freedom!!!! May God bless our troops and keep them safe today.
I have soooo many things for which to say thanks. As others have mentioned; my salvation, family with 5 beautiful grandchildren, friends, health, a job I enjoy, the privilege of worshiping with a wonderful spirit filled church family and a pastor and family who continually pray for us.
Thank you Lord for all your many blessings.

It is now 12:45am the morning after Thanksgiving.
I’m just completing an organ offer where a 16 yr old passed away in a car accident. I am thankful for His protection.
I’m thankful to God for being in control and for His mercies which are new every morning.
I thank Him for wanting a relationship with us. I thank Him for Jesus and the change He makes in our lives.
I pray as this Thankgiving passes that we will all have an attitude of gratitude, and live like it everyday. Especially when we don’t “feel” like it.
I’m thankful for relationships that God places in our lives and the lessons that we learn from them.
I’m thankful for health, a good job, those that love and care for me, and for the TRUTH that never changes.
God Bless our troops as previously noted. God Bless the men and women of God who serve for His kingdom.
May we carry this “Thanksgiving Spirit” into and through each and everyday.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. I had a wonderful day with my mom, brother , sister, wife, son and daughter, son-n-law, and especially my 3 year old grand-daughter. Thanks can be given in many ways and our God has shown us the way. We need to keep showing Him how we can keep the thanks going. Thanks Paul for your blog and the many that express their thanks. Thanks to our troops, policemen, firemen, nurse’s, Dr, that are spending their holidays working while others are enjoying meals with our families. THANKS
