ATTENTION All Aspiring Songwriters…
…Daryl Williams…or should I say “Daryl The Great?”…or should I say “The reigning, 2007 SouthernGospelNews.com Songwriter of The Year?”…or should I say “that guy that has written over 600 songs, and had hundreds of them recorded and published by many of the top artists and publishers in the Christian music world?”…or should I say “the generous fella’ that let me co-write a tune with him for the ever-popular Ivan Parker?”…or should I say “the talented musician and singer that helps me demo songs for others and is helping me write a couple of happy songs for The Prophets’ NEXT (2008) CD?”…or should I say…”the awesome husband and Father that seems to have kids and their stuff swirling around him everytime I see him at church?”…or should I say “the owner and manager of a great group (Daryl Williams Trio) that has just released a most inspiring new project on the Sonlite Records Label?”…or should I say “one of the dudes that Bill Gaither calls when he is looking for new material?”
WOW!!! I’m getting tired trying to come up with the best thing to call DW. I know my favorite thing is to “call” him when I’m looking for some good chinese food in the Nashville area! (sorry for the lame joke, just getting a little bored myself - not really)…How could you get bored talking about Daryl Williams?
The best thing I can call Daryl is REAL. A real Christain gentleman…a real talent…a real servant of our Lord…a real friend…and a real expert when it comes to songwriting..and nothing but a REAL delight when collaborating as singer/songwriters. Thanks Daryl for the help you have been to me over the years…and CONGRATULATIONS on all that stuff I just wrote about you being true.
Why the title for this article? Daryl writes a monthly commentary at sogospelnews.com that is always something about composing SG music and lyrics. I have found it to be very informative and inspiring. This month’s article is a MUST READ for all young or beginning writers…”aspiring writers”…SO, if you are one, READ IT HERE…and NOW!
Let me know what you think about DW’s article?
Come on…Come blog with me!

Don’t remember J4…DW is a writer. He kind’a steers clear of the publishing thing. You do have some great songs for sure. We can re-visit your catalogue if you like. TPQ and other groups are on a constant search for tunes that work for our markets and fans…yes, I have enjoyed working with DW…Hope to see him this week in Nashville…doing two sessions for TPQ, Fri & Sat afternoons/evenings…
I am anxious to hear what he has done with the verses on the song I gave him! Ah….”the beat goes on”
