I Love This Month!

This is going to be a fun post!

I really enjoy the month of October…every year.

Both of my sons were born in October…as was my only older brother. The family Birthday parties are a blast! I like birthdays.

“Fall” really gets going this month. The Arkansas forest’s turn amazing colors. I love the season. The grass stops growing so fast. My mums bloom.

Football is also now in full bloom! I can actually smell football in the air. Of course, this year our beloved Razorbacks are taking their licks…or is that, “their punches”?…Wow, Are they ever…but, GO HOGS GO!

It is actually “fun” to mow the yard, walk the dog, and play a round of golf. The weather is amazing (most of the time). Really, this stuff becomes “more” fun because of the delightful weather….because it’s pretty fun even in the heat of summer.

My electric bill shrinks mightily…yes we almost have to put out an APB on all those kilo-watts. Where oh where have they gone? Even my water bill goes down. Hard to figure how they figure my water bill. But, it does go down in October.

Ahhh…My Christmas season begins! Yes it does. We start making our lists and checkin’em twice. We even start buying stuff. We start pilfering around in our Christmas room. That is always fun. Really. Amen. My touring choir (The Arkansas Revival Center Choir) starts having NOEL rehearsals. Our first Carol singing at choir rehearsal was this past Sunday afternoon. Man! Was it evermore some fun!

Speaking of the choir: THIS month we always sing at Revival sevices as well as our Concerts. As a result, We are often in some pretty neat services. Yeh, if you are a good Baptist, October is Revival time. Amen…again.

We will have several Prophets’ rehearsals this month. We have 12 TV shows to make between now and the end of the year. That’s a bunch of songs. I wonder if we’ll sing any Carols? I wonder if we’ll have a Prophets’ Christmas Party? Mmmm…

But my favorite thing about October? We eat more soup. My Mom’s soups are legendary.

What’s your favorite thing about October?

Come on….come blog with me!

Yes, October is a great time of the year. All the color changes on the trees make Arkansas and some other states look even better. And yes football for the Hogs is a learning lesson this year. But they will still be good.(?) Wouldn’t it be sad if Florida had another bad game and Arkansas won by 1. Yep, October is good to some because about 60 years ago I was showing my face to the world also. And ARCC will be doing our best. Thanks you Paul for all you do.

Thanks Wes! How are those Tigers doin’ ?

Jimmy, YOU are a blessing! I forget how old you are…you are so
young at heart! Yep, in 6 hours my Dad and Matt, Shannon and
her brother and niece will all be heading to RAZORBACK STADIUM
to join the faithful in praying, er’ cheering, for those Hogs as they
take on those Gators! GO HOGS GO!

Now that’s another thing I love about October. Football in the Ozarks.

Me too…you are a blessing…I would like to have a chance to bless you a little. Your post reminds me that I never had Aaron send you the music to JESUS WEPT. So sorry…I will be in Nashville (to rehearse with The Prophets) this week. Will try to remember to speak with AM about it this time.

    Thanks for reading my blog…PJ
