Tragedy Strikes Chapman Family…
Recently, everyone in the christian music ministry and industry was greatly saddened by the shocking death of Steven Curtis Chapman’s 5 year old daughter. Sadly, she was struck by an SUV, driven by her older brother, while she was playing in the family driveway. This is more than a great loss to this family. It is a family tramau that will linger for years to come.
This dear, talented man has inspired all of us with his music, personality and LIVE performances. He has even had a couple of hit songs in the SG world with The Cathedrals and Gold City. He has been exemplary in his personal faith. Something that is not always typical of christian musicians. Now, he needs all of us to pray for him…and his hurting family.
My fellow blogger, Daniel Mount, has done an excellent job of linking us to several web-sites that supply background and details. find his post HERE.
Thanks for joining me in lifting our brother to the throne.
Come on…Come blog with me!

Thanks for posting this and letting your readers know to pray for him and for his family.
Strangely, even though I rarely listen to CCM, this has hit me harder than even Dottie Rambo’s and Doug Riley’s sudden deaths on the road. I’m not quite sure why, other than perhaps that (in part from being an oldest brother) there is a really soft spot in my heart for little children.

Thanks Daniel for your honest and heartfelt comment. There is nothing more gut-wrenching than the death of a child. In the natural scheme of things, it is “out of order”…and seems so unfair. I can tell you, that as a pastor, there is nothing more challenging than comforting parents who have lost a child. It is made even more difficult when the child is so young.
This event is particularly disturbing because of the cause of death. We are all praying for this dear family. They have a strong faith in a mighty, holy and gracious God. He alone, can and will bring them through these dark days.
Daniel, we will also be praying for you. Thanks again for the comment.

Our Prayers go out to Mr Chapman’s family I know there hurting heart’s will be calmed with the help of our Lord. No one knows why the young are taken before the parents. God has a plan maybe we will understand later.
